ABOUT

JB and Patty Chimene have lived full-time on Wild Currant Farm for several years both in the Wren’s Retreat and in the home that they built in 2016.  They are both native to Texas and enjoy many of the local resources that the Hill Country has to offer such as restaurants, wineries, breweries, distilleries, natural caves, parks and many other wonderful itineraries.

The Chimenes have traveled to many parts of the United States including Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, Colorado and Maine, just to name a few states.  They have also traveled to Canada, Mexico and Australia and Patty spent several weeks in Russia a few years ago.

Living with them on Wild Currant Farm are their over-loved and quite spoiled Shorkies, Bella and Shadow.  The dogs enjoy pestering the native wildlife from the safety of their back porch.  Shadow is our guard-dog – he likes to chase the birds off the porch and make sure the deer don’t eat too much close to the house.  He also likes to say hi to our local jack rabbits!

Hummingbird Haven was the cutest little place to get away for a few days! The area was clean and you could tell they went out of their way to make sure everything was taken care of (silverware, plates, coffee, grill, etc. were already included). We will definitely be back! – Mexia May 2020

This place exceeded my expectations. The hosts were very responsive and the space was perfect for a weekend getaway. We wish we could have stayed an extra night.  Jessica March 2020

This place was great!!!!!! The location is spot on. Close to everything but rural enough for the nights to be very quiet and dark which makes for epic star gazing at night. The cabin had everything you could need. The booklet with tips for things to do will not do you wrong. Every place we visited from the book was perfect. Keep an eye out for the wildlife. Saw many deer and other critters around. Cant wait to get back.  Bryon February 2020
